Tessa’s passion lives at the intersection of ethical design and environmental advocacy. Being raised in a rural county at the base of the Shenandoah National Park, she continues to foster a deep-seated ethic of stewardship that was inherent to her upbringing. Bolstered by an undergraduate degree in Global Sustainability, she appreciates the value of systems thinking in dynamic thought leadership.

As a Master’s candidate in Design Management & Communications, she strives to leverage her creative skillset as a force for good and an agent of change. She finds purpose and inspiration as a multimedia storyteller with a strong moral pulse. As such, she continues to develop a robust creative portfolio that spans videography, interface architecture, social media, static imagery, and compelling prose. She believes that empathy is the foundation for innovative design and continue to lead her work from a place of deep listening and purposeful action.

Tessa considers photography to be an essential tool for storytelling. Her work  has received accolades by the University of Virginia Center of Public Health and features in the Rappahannock County Art Tour. Tessa first entered the world of graphic design while attending the University of Virginia. In 2013, she received intimate training by the UVA Office of the Dean of Students Marketing Department. During her academic career, she created promotional materials for several university departments, including the Contemplative Sciences Center, Morven Summer Institute, and Department of Global Sustainability. Since graduation, she has built a diverse portfolio of freelance work with clients including international publishing companies, schools of herbal medicine, dining collectives, and environmental non-profits.

While Tessa has been editing video footage for social media use since 2013, she recently began on the journey of directing and filming her own shoots. She enjoys creating editorial style content for conscious brands, breathing intention into each frame.

Tessa has been developing her skillset in social media since her beginning days as a designer in 2013. Committed to the creation of intentional media, Tessa’s specializes in the production of brand consistent content and story-centric imagery. Her focus is currently on the production of Instagram Reels that leverage trending audio for optimum content reach.
