Hello! My name is Tessa and I’m a visual artist, design leader, and multimedia storyteller. Raised in the mountains of Virginia, my work is grounded in a deep connection to the land and a lifelong commitment to environmental advocacy.
With over nine years of experience in design and communications, I blend strategy and storytelling to spark meaningful change. I hold a B.A. in Global Environments & Sustainability from the University of Virginia and am currently pursuing my M.P.S. in Design Management & Communications at Georgetown University.
When I’m not leading creative projects, you’ll find me exploring our family farm with my hard-working husband, bright-eyed son, and three spirited dogs.

I see photography as an essential tool for storytelling—one that allows me to capture quiet beauty, connection, and place. My work has been recognized by the University of Virginia’s Center for Public Health and featured in the Rappahannock County Art Tour. You can explore a sample of my portfolio below.
graphic design
I discovered graphic design as an undergraduate at the University of Virginia, where I trained with the Office of the Dean of Students Marketing Department. While at UVA, I created materials for the Contemplative Sciences Center, Morven Summer Institute, and the Department of Global Sustainability.
Since then, I’ve built a diverse freelance portfolio, working with international publishers, herbal medicine schools, dining collectives, and environmental nonprofits—always with a focus on meaningful, mission-driven design.
podcasting
I recently ventured into audio production and verbal storytelling as the co-host of the Propolis podcast. This project brings together my love of design ethics, art, and environmental advocacy, with the goal of giving back to the creative community. Through thoughtful conversation and storytelling, we hope to spark connection, reflection, and purpose-driven dialogue.

I’ve been working in social media since I began my design career in 2013, with a focus on creating intentional, brand-consistent content. I specialize in story-driven imagery and currently focus on producing Instagram Reels that use trending audio to maximize reach and engagement.
videography
I’ve been editing video for social media since 2013, but recently began directing and filming my own shoots. I love creating editorial-style content for conscious brands, bringing intention and storytelling into every frame.
